“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”   Proverbs 3: 5-6

For years now, I have kept a stack of index cards (rubber-banded together) in whatever slot or pocket of my car console they will fit in.  On each card is written a Bible verse. Many are coffee-stained, frayed at the edges or scribbled on.  But reading one or two verses at stoplights while driving helps bring my focus back to God.

So recently I came across Proverbs 3: 5-6, a favorite and long ago memorized verse.  But what struck me anew was not just the idea of trusting, but of trusting God with ALL of my heart.  Not just one situation or person dear to me, but all of them, and with no reservation or holding back.  Both challenging and comforting, don’t you think?

“Let us give up our work, our thoughts, our plans, ourselves, our loved ones, our influence, our all–  right into His hand.  And then there will be nothing left to be troubled about.  When all is in His hand, all will be safe; all will be done and done well.” – J. Hudson Taylor

Heavenly Father,  How can we begin to thank you for loving us enough to care about (and take care of) everything that fills our hearts?  We thank you and we love you, Amen.
