Weekly Devotional by Morgan Burns

“Recently it seems like my future has become unclear. With our world changing daily, it can be hard to find clarity about what is to come. I find my mind overthinking and falling deeper into fear and anxiety because I cannot see a clear path for my future and the future of the world. I turned my attention to scripture and came across Philippians 4:6-7. It reads, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” In a time of uncertainty, where fear and anxiety tend to grow easier, it’s important to keep in mind God’s presence and peace. Join me in a prayer:

Dear God,

I pray to You this very moment because I am struggling greatly. It seems my mind is full of fear and anxiety about the future ahead of me.

Lord, I pray for guidance in putting my trust all in You. Once I put my trust in You completely, I will not fear because I know everything will be in Your almighty hands.

I pray I find peace in Your guidance and Your presence and an ease of mind as I focus on the plan that You have already created for me, instead of my own because Your plan is always greater.

God, thank you for directing the way for me, even when it may not seem clear to me at the moment.
