Weekly Devotional by Diana Golden July

“I have recently found myself caught up in political discussions in which no one wins. I turned to scripture for peace and understanding. What I’ve come to see is that in our current home, here on earth, we must deal with things that divide us – political polarization, racism and violence – to name a few.

But, we must keep our minds on the Kingdom of Christ. John 18:36 states: Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world.” Our Lord has opened up his Kingdom to all believers. Jesus tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness.

We would be hard pressed to find true righteousness in this civil kingdom. True hope is found only in the Kingdom of Christ.

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
During these times of political division, unrest and illness in our country, help us to keep our eyes upon You and Your Kingdom. This earthly kingdom will pass, but heaven is our true home. Amen”
