DESCRIPTION:Stuff-A-Bus is a summer campaign that collects school supplies for children in need in our local schools. It’s organized by CityLinC\, a non-profit organization serving Calhoun County since 1968. \nYou’re invited to help collect school supplies for lower-income children. The supplies are delivered to local schools in late August for distribution to children in need in early September when they return to school.  Please bring your donations to church; we will deliver them to CityLinC at the end of August. \nSchool Supplies List\nWe can use a wide variety of new and surplus school supplies in the Stuff-A-Bus campaign. All donated materials must be safe for young children and use only non-toxic materials. (Please do not donate broken\, used or worn supplies.) DESCRIPTION:Consider  the following – \n            Areas in Africa are now taking food from the hungry to feed the starving \n            Global hunger is exacerbated by climate change\, COVID-19 and conflict or war \n            About 3.1 billion people could not afford a healthy diet n 2020 \n\n It can be hard to understand the food insecurity faced by others when we have relatively easy access to food\, can get water with the turn of a handle and can choose to skip a meal if we want.  Stepping up and stepping out is one way to be a part of the solution to lessening the grip that hunger has on so many people. \nWith fingers crossed and prayers being raised – the 2022 Battle Creek Hunger Walk is happening on September 25\, 2022 in our lovely Leila Arboretum.  There is a sense of excitement as 8 local churches will gather and walk with the goal of raising money that will help fight hunger challenges around the world.  Additionally\, 25% of the total money raised will be donated to 3 local programs – Urbandale SDA Food Pantry/Salvation Army Meals\, SHARE Center and Second Missionary Baptist’s New Vision Outreach Ministry. Walk Registration will start at 2:30 with the Walk beginning at 3:00 and ending around 4:00/4:30. \nHow can you help? \n\nDonate on-line at www.crophungerwalk.org/battlecreekmi – (look for the First Pres Team)\nDonate to a First Pres Walker (Mary Burg\, Joy Miller\, Jackie Wells\, Kathy Baker) or look for posters by the Elevator and Parlor Bulletin Boards to see who is else might be walking and taking donations\nChecks are encouraged –Made out to CWS/CROP   or First Presbyterian Church/memo linee CWS/CROP  •Donation deadline: October 7\, 2022\nPray for all who are helping to make a difference in hunger programs at the local and international level.\n\nQuestions/Additional information: Contact Kathy Baker/964-6642.

DESCRIPTION:A Pilgrimage weekend is a 72 hour journey in which guests explore priorities\, learn the importance of Christian study and action\, and share music\, laughter and prayers. Perhaps best of all\, this wonderful fellowship all takes place in a beautiful natural setting\, away from the noise and pressure of our regular routines. \nYour next opportunity to attend a Pilgrimage will be at the Amigo Centre in Sturgis\, MI\, at 5:30 pm\, Thursday\, October 20\, 2022 and ending by 4:30 p.m. on Sunday\, October 23. Accommodations are comfortable and modern in the Amigo Lodge\, with generally three to a room with a private bathroom. Meals are excellent\, especially the hearty breakfasts\, all served buffet style\, and prepared by friendly staff. \nNext time you feel the need to get away from the secular world & want to reconnect with\, and grow in your Christian faith\, please consider coming to Pilgrimage. DESCRIPTION:“Have we got a show for you” You may recognize that quote as the opening line to the Veggietales theme song. Here is your chance to relive your childhood or see what your grandkids were always talking about. We will be showing either one of the Veggietales movies or 2 of the episodes. The episodes are lots of fun and you’ll learn something too. If you know and remember the songs\, singing along is encouraged. Popcorn\, pop\, and bottled water will be provided. We’ll start the show about 6pm. We will be at the Youth Center. Watch the Sunday bulletins for more info as we get closer. This is an all church family movie night aimed at both the young and the young at heart and anyone else who wants to come on down.

DESCRIPTION:After a three year hiatus\, the 2022 Walk to ENDALZ returns to the Binder Park Zoo on Saturday\, October 1\, around 8:45 a.m.  Registering to walk in the morning also gets you all day zoo admission.  This will be the sixth year the BC First Pres Walkers have participated.  No matter the venue\, it has always been a day of fun and fellowship while supporting a good cause. \nWalking on October 1 is not mandatory for team membership.  You can also participate by fundraising yourself\, donating to a team member\, or publicizing our team verbally or on social  media. We are preparing kits & a video presentation for another virtual event designed to:\n• prepare hearts and minds to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ\n• & introduce non-believers to the Light of the World! \nEach kit will contain an Advent Devotional\, items for cookie decorating & a craft. Kits will go out to our Luke 10 Neighbors\, our church family\, and friends. On December 5th a virtual gathering will be held to enjoy the kits simultaneously through a prerecorded video program including the Christmas story and music. \nReserve a kit for yourself and/or someone you’d like to share the joy of Christmas with by delivering an Anticipating Christmas kit to their home.  \nContact Lisa Brown – call 269.580.6162\nor email lisachristbrown@gmail.com.  \nKits can be picked up at the church on Friday\, December 3rd between 1-3PM.
