CROP Walk is Coming!
August 18 - September 18
Consider the following –
Areas in Africa are now taking food from the hungry to feed the starving
Global hunger is exacerbated by climate change, COVID-19 and conflict or war
About 3.1 billion people could not afford a healthy diet n 2020
It can be hard to understand the food insecurity faced by others when we have relatively easy access to food, can get water with the turn of a handle and can choose to skip a meal if we want. Stepping up and stepping out is one way to be a part of the solution to lessening the grip that hunger has on so many people.
With fingers crossed and prayers being raised – the 2022 Battle Creek Hunger Walk is happening on September 25, 2022 in our lovely Leila Arboretum. There is a sense of excitement as 8 local churches will gather and walk with the goal of raising money that will help fight hunger challenges around the world. Additionally, 25% of the total money raised will be donated to 3 local programs – Urbandale SDA Food Pantry/Salvation Army Meals, SHARE Center and Second Missionary Baptist’s New Vision Outreach Ministry. Walk Registration will start at 2:30 with the Walk beginning at 3:00 and ending around 4:00/4:30.
